MKC's Cam Waters Brings Home The Bucks in Griffith
Author: Steve Polak

Over the weekend MKC driver Cam Waters managed to score yet another victory, having had a very successful campaign in Griffith NSW.

Cam, along with his brother Jarod, decied to head 'over the border' from Mildura to NSW to have a crack at the Yellow Tail Cup. This event, sponsored by Casella Wines, featured a variety of classes, with a very strong group of rookies. There was even prize money, with a total prize pool of over $11,000!

The Griffiths track is a ripper too, with a complex infield and a great mix of stop corners and fast sweeping corners.

Things went well for Cam in his Monaco GP5 too. In Jarod's words, "the meeting was a very exctiing one for us. Cam came second in the first race and then came back and won the second race. He then went on to win the pre-final and the final."

Jarod said, "there was a quality field. There were only nine rookies, but they weren't that slow. There is an eight round series in NSW. This series is the equivalent of the Power series in Victoria. We were very happy to get 'something back' from a kart meeting as the prizemoney ($400) would more than cover the entries and maybe help us buy some SL1s."

MKC would like to congratulate Cam on yet another win in his Monaco GP5. 2007 is shaping up very well for him. The year began with a win in the Oakleigh Top Gun series and recent wins at Todd Rd during the second round of the City Series as well as the Yellow Tail Cup suggest that he is a driver worth keeping an eye out for.

If you'd like to get into Midget/ Rookie racing MKC has a great selection of Monaco Rookie karts second hand in stock now. We can also set you up with the same GP5 Rookie package Cam is winning with right now.
